ABID’s “Interiors 2016” celebrates its 26th Year
Kolkata, 10th March’16: Association of Architects, Builders, Interior Decorators and Allied Business (ABID) presented its yearly mega event ‘INTERIORS 2015’ at Milan Mela premises, in the presence of, Ms Mahima Choudhury, leading Bollywood personality. As special Guest. film personality, Ms Pallbi Chatterjee added glamour to the event by her appearance. Along with them Mr. Kamlesh Agarwal, President , ABID; Mr.Anand Gupta, Secretary ABID , Exhibition Committee Chairman Mr. Sundeep Chadha and other office bearers and members of ABID were also present on the inaugural day of the mega event. The exhibition continued till 14th of March, 2016. The exhibition was open to the public from 10am to 7 pm.
This year there are over 80 exhibitors spread over the 4 hangers of Milan Mela and cover an area of over 50000 sq ft. In addition to the excellent stalls put up by several eminent brands there are mock rooms put up by interior designers and decorators to give an idea of how the end products can be used.
The visitors in this mega event will get the opportunity to explore stalls of principal sponsor, GreenLam Industries Ltd. , and sponsors Amulya Mica, Merino Laminates, Raga, Viva Simpolo, Qutone, Raga Kitchens, Somany, Tajpuria, and Enox. Further more some of the recognized brands have introduced new range of Home decoration products which will be showcased here. The fair exhibits the new dimensions and innovations in Interior Decor which catch the fancy of the end users and help them reach their inspirations. The media associates for the event are VM&D.
As per the standards set by ABID the fair will be breaking new grounds in Interior Design and Product launches. ABID Products has played an active part over the years in promoting and educating the Eastern Region of India with new developments in the industry, both Interior & Exterior. ABID had recently organised a National Seminar on “Green Design in Interior Architecture” on 30th January’2016 at ITC Sonar Bangla, Kolkata. The seminar was well attended by eminent personalities in the field from all over India and had speakers from as far as Bangladesh and UK too. The seminar was a first of its kind in India and very relevant in the present day environment of limiting carbon foot print so that our children can live in a better and cleaner environment.
Last month the Indian Postal Department had issued a Special Day Cover of our Association to commemorate the completion of 25 years of service to the industry. The Organization regularly holds Exhibitions, Seminars, Educational tours for its members and also for up coming professionals of the industry. ABID, over the years, has encouraged vocational training in this field by regularly tying up with various institutes of Eastern region imparting such education by inviting students for its various programs and also by providing field training opportunity to these students. The deserving students are also awarded merit certificates by ABID in Consultation with the Institutes.
Though no buying and selling is allowed in this fair it generates awareness leading to enquiries which culminate in business to the tune of several Million of rupees in the region. Interior Decoration and Furnishing though in the unorganized sector, yet it generates a great deal of employment for both skilled and unskilled manpower. The total Interior Decoration kitty in Kolkata should be of several Crorers of rupees per annum. The Exhibition is visited by more than 1 lakh person every year and we hope to achieve much more this year.
